Spring Living Retirement Communities (springliving.ca) is a boutique, rapidly growing Canadian senior living owner/operator, who currently owns and operates retirement communities in Ontario and Quebec. The company has an ambitious growth plan to expanding through acquisition of mid-market retirement residences across Canada over the next 5 years. Spring Living is the Retirement Community platform of the BAZ group; a Real Estate company that strategically acquires, develops, constructs and repositions assets throughout North America.
JOB OVERVIEW

The Payroll Coordinator reports to the HR & Payroll Manager and is responsible for processing payroll and benefits for communities accurately and on time.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for payroll processing a bi-weekly payroll for a designated group of Spring Living communities
- Be familiar with unionized wage rate and entitlement (vacation, sick, overtime) progressions according to Unionized Collective Bargaining agreements, per site, and ensure updates are made as required to be in compliant with agreements
- Communicate effectively with site managers to review payroll adjustments and ensure they are captured on each payroll.
- Be the main point of contact for communities for payroll issues, questions and training
- Review all new hire, promotions, terminations, job assignment changes for communities for accuracy and completeness
- Confirms and verifies accurate payroll reports to time and attendance source data.
- Work in tandem with other payroll staff to ensure all work has been reviewed for accuracy
- Ensure all payroll union reports, payroll taxes and government reporting are completed on time and accurately
- Prepare Year-end audit requirements and meet all required deadlines
- Reconcile payroll HRIS system to accounting records
QUALIFICATIONS
- Assist with ad-hoc payroll and HR related duties as required.
- Post secondary education in Business/Payroll/ HR or equivalent experience
- Payroll Compliance designation preferred
- Hands on knowledge with Desjardin or a similar HRIS system is preferred
- Computer Proficient (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint etc.)
- Thorough in terms of process orientation and methodology
- Strong analytic skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Understands the importance of sensitive and/or confidential information and issues.
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills via email, phone, and within a virtual environment
- Ability to multi-task in stressful, fast paced situations and comfortable with ambiguity
- High level of initiative, willingness to learn and demonstrates a solution-based approach to problems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience in senior living is an asset
Pay: From CA$65,000.00 per year
