Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (Deputy CAO)


The Village of Lytton is seeking a full-time, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (Deputy CAO) to provide senior leadership in municipal operations and governance. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Deputy CAO will oversee day-to-day municipal operations and ensure efficient service delivery while supporting governance and legislative compliance.

This role offers a unique career opportunity, with potential to progress into a CAO role combined with other executive leadership responsibilities (e.g., Corporate Officer or Chief Financial Officer), depending on experience and organizational needs.

The salary for this position is $120,000 to $150,000, plus benefits, depending on experience.

Qualifications: Experience in a rural local government and a small, unionized environment is preferred, along with a degree in public administration or a related field. Strong knowledge of BC municipal governance, relevant legislation, and First Nations relations is required.

  • Attendance at evening meetings and community events is required
  • Occasional travel may be required

About Lytton
Located 3 hours north of Vancouver and 2 hours west of Kamloops, Lytton is rebuilding after the June 30, 2021, wildfire. The Village will serve 210 residents, with 2,500 in the surrounding region, including Indigenous communities.
