Full job description

Overview
Experienced Dental Assistant with a background in PERIO or ORAL SURGERY specialty practice. Hours are 7:30am - 4:00pm. Weekdays. 4 days per week. The ideal candidate will support surgical procedures, assist with patient care, and ensure smooth operation within the surgical environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced setting, providing essential assistance to the periodontist.

Responsibilities

  • Room set up
  • Assist periodontist with retraction, suction, and instrument passing.
  • Manage patient positioning throughout surgical procedures
  • Document procedures accurately using electronic health records systems Cleardent
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care instructions to patients
  • Take digital radiographs, CBCT, and intraoral scans
  • Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments
  • Collaborate with dental receptionists and other staff to ensure seamless patient flow

Qualifications

  • Proven experience dental assisting in a dedicated surgical practice
  • Familiarity with Cleardent
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work standing in surgical operatory and maintain focus during detailed procedures
