Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations in a dynamic food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality food preparation and presentation. The Kitchen Supervisor will play a key role in fostering a positive team atmosphere and ensuring efficient restaurant management.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and servers
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
  • Assist with food industry best practices, including inventory management and ordering supplies
  • Train new staff on restaurant procedures, food safety, and customer service expectations
  • Monitor kitchen operations to maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency
  • Manage restaurant flow during peak hours to ensure timely service
  • Collaborate with management to develop menus and special offerings
  • Uphold hospitality standards by providing excellent customer service and addressing guest concerns when necessary
  • Lead by example in maintaining a professional and positive work environment

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service setting
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety protocols
  • Experience in restaurant management or leadership roles within the hospitality industry
  • Strong background in customer service within the food industry
  • Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving processes and kitchen workflows
  • Previous experience as a barista or in barista roles is considered a plus but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
