Job description:

Silver Cross Kitchener has an opening for an installer technician of accessibility equipment serving the Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate is an experienced technician having worked other durable electrical/mechanical industries or construction industry. To succeed, you are energetic and ready to learn new skills. You do quality work and have an aptitude for electrical and mechanical devices. Key Responsibilities:

  • Install stairlifts, home lifts and patient lifts
  • Diagnose and repair installed equipment
  • Solve service problems on the spot in the field
  • Assist in delivery of equipment to clients (medical beds)
  • Instruct clients in proper maintenance of products
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, and providing all tracking documentation
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and training
  • Maintain customer confidence by providing professional, detailed work
  • Accountable for tools provided
  • Perform other duties as requested

Key Qualifications:

  • 3 years experience as technician/installer
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude is essential
  • Ability to independently perform trouble shooting under pressure
  • Valid Drivers License in good standing, clean police check, bondable
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with a flexible schedule to maintain superior customer service
  • Punctual, trustworthy and reliable
  • Previous experience in home healthcare is a huge asset
  • Interest in learning new skills and staying current on technologies
  • Post secondary electromechanical college diploma or equivalent work experience an asset
  • Fluent in English with good communication skills
  • Team player, gets along well with others
  • Good interpersonal skills to deal with clients
