Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and reliable 5-ton driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a 5-ton truck to transport freight and goods across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair will ensure timely deliveries and smooth operations. Duties

  • Safely operate a 5-ton truck to deliver freight and cargo to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of goods
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels to maintain optimal performance
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery receipts, and vehicle maintenance records
  • Assist with minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting issues with the truck to minimize downtime
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff and dispatchers for efficient scheduling and route planning
  • Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a 5-ton truck
  • Proven experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, or freight transportation
  • Familiarity with forklift operation is preferred
  • Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues
  • Ability to handle freight securely using proper lifting techniques and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Commitment to safety standards and regulations governing commercial transportation
