About the Role

The Steward is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and back-of-house environment while supporting the culinary team in delivering high-quality service. The Steward ensures that dishes, kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas are properly cleaned, sanitized, and readily available for use.

The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, detail-focused, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

What You’ll Do

• Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, kitchen equipment, and other food-service items.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dishwashing areas, floors, storage areas, and service areas.
• Ensure clean equipment, utensils, and supplies are available to culinary and food-service teams when needed.
• Properly sort and dispose of garbage, recycling, and food waste in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Assist with maintaining clean and organized garbage and recycling areas.
• Support kitchen colleagues with basic cleaning, food preparation assistance, and other duties as assigned.
• Assist with receiving and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries when required.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, chemical handling, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to established safety procedures.
• Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, spills, hazards, or other safety issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with culinary, restaurant, banquet, and hotel teams.
• Support the hotel’s commitment to exceptional service and a positive workplace environment.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Chef, Supervisor, or management.

About You

• Previous dishwashing experience in a hotel or restaurant environment is an asset
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable with scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable, hardworking, and willing to take initiative
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
