About Us

Metro Windows & Doors is a local, family-owned and operated business that has proudly served our community in window and door excellence since 1982. We take pride in providing exceptional customer service, quality craftsmanship, and reliable products to our customers. Our commitment to excellence and service has been recognized through the 2026 Sub-Trade of the Year Award from the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of Nova Scotia, as well as being named a Halifax Consumer Choice Award winner for the 16th consecutive year.

About the Role

This is not a typical warehouse position. While the role includes important warehouse responsibilities, most days will be spent out on the road making deliveries. The majority of deliveries are within HRM, with regular deliveries to locations throughout Nova Scotia.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of warehouse work and being on the road. You’ll spend time preparing and loading materials, driving to job sites, safely unloading products, and interacting with customers and team members. When you’re not making deliveries, you’ll support the warehouse with receiving, organizing, and preparing materials for upcoming jobs.

Because deliveries are an important part of our daily operations, reliability, punctuality, safe driving, and good communication are essential to the role.

Warehouse Duties

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming windows, doors, and related materials
  • Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and dollies
  • Organize and maintain inventory in a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment
  • Pick and prepare orders for delivery or customer pickup
  • Assist with general warehouse organization and housekeeping
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
  • Work cooperatively with other team members to keep daily operations running efficiently

Delivery Duties

  • Load products securely onto delivery vehicles
  • Safely transport materials to customer sites and job locations in a timely manner
  • Unload and deliver products with care, ensuring materials arrive without damage
  • Obtain customer signatures and document deliveries accurately
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers and other team members
  • Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles
  • Maintain accurate daily driving logs and maintenance logs in accordance with applicable Department of Transportation requirements and company policies
  • Represent Metro Windows & Doors in a professional and courteous manner while interacting with customers

Requirements

  • Valid class 5 driver's license with a driving abstract in good standing
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred, especially in construction or building materials
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Forklift certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain certification
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential
  • Dependable and committed to being at work on time and ready to contribute
  • Ability to work independently while also being a reliable and cooperative member of a small team
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to follow instructions, company procedures, and safety requirements

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will be someone who takes pride in their work, can be counted on by their coworkers, and understands that dependability is especially important in a small-team environment. We value employees who communicate well, take responsibility for their work, help where needed, and contribute to a positive and productive workplace.

If you are hardworking, reliable, punctual, and enjoy being part of a close-knit team, we’d like to hear from you.
