Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Courier Driver to join our team, operating out of our Lethbridge branch office.

You will be responsible for performing timely and safe deliveries in the Grimshaw/ Peace River branch office location, and the surrounding areas.

Please note that this is a physically demanding job requiring constant lifting of boxes and packages which could go up to 75lbs/ 35 kgs without assistance and up to 150 lbs. / 68 kgs. with a dolly.

Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do):

• Sort and organize incoming freight shipments based on destination and type of merchandise.
• Ensure all freight is sorted in order of delivery and accounted for.
• Utilize pallet jacks, dollies, or other equipment to move and stack freight as needed.
• Scan, load, and secure freight in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness in the sorting area and ensure the vehicle is cleaned out daily.
• Label undeliverable packages so they are understood by the warehouse clerk.
• Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle (up to a 1-ton cube) to deliver packages.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery and exceptional service.
• Load and unload packages from the vehicle, ensuring they are handled with care.
• Verify the accuracy of delivery information and obtain necessary signatures.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation and records of all deliveries.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
• Follow all required guidelines and processes required to deliver packages.

Qualifications (Who You Are):

• Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license (non-GDL).
• Able to provide a recent 3-year driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points.
• An experienced and proficient driver, comfortable operating vehicles up to a 1-ton cube on highways and in all Alberta weather conditions (Winter, summer and other inclement weather and road conditions).
• This role is physically demanding. You must be in good physical condition, able to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs. (35 kgs) on a consistent basis, and be able to stand, walk, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
• Possess CSA-approved safety footwear or be willing to obtain it.
• Punctual and reliable, with references to confirm your dependability.
• Possess a strong customer service background with a desire to provide an excellent experience.
• Previous courier or delivery experience is an asset, but we will train a suitable candidate.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
