The IT Systems Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the technology infrastructure of the restaurant chain. This includes overseeing all IT systems, managing POS (point-of-sale) and other restaurant software, and ensuring secure, efficient, and effective technology usage across all locations. The role also involves developing strategies to improve operational efficiency, maintaining data integrity, and troubleshooting technical issues to minimize disruptions in service.

3. Data Management and Security - Safeguard customer and business data by implementing data protection strategies, adhering to compliance requirements, and managing secure backups. Monitor cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, implementing measures to protect against breaches and data loss.

4. Technical Support and Troubleshooting - Provide day-to-day support to restaurant managers and staff to address technical issues with minimal disruption to operations. Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for prompt repairs and support when necessary.

5. Strategic Planning and Optimization - Evaluate current technologies and recommend upgrades or changes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborate with the operations and finance teams to align IT initiatives with business goals. Research and implement new technology solutions to streamline operations, enhance the customer experience, and support growth.

6. Vendor and Budget Management - Manage relationships with IT vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely maintenance and support for critical systems. Develop and monitor the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and maintenance of equipment and software.

7. Training and Team Development - Train restaurant staff on IT and systems best practices, emphasizing POS usage, cybersecurity, and troubleshooting basic issues. Support restaurant managers in training new hires on POS systems and other software. Lead or collaborate with field team.

Qualifications:

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in IT management, preferably in the hospitality or retail industry. Experience with POS systems and Third Party vendors is essential.
