Full job description

Fox on John is hiring experienced Line Cooks to join our kitchen team at 106 John Street in downtown Toronto.

We are a busy restaurant in the heart of the Entertainment District, serving high-volume lunch, dinner, late-night, weekends, events, and game-day traffic. We are looking for strong, reliable cooks who can handle pressure, move fast, stay organized, and keep food quality consistent during heavy rushes.

This role is best for someone who has real kitchen experience, takes pride in their station, and understands that speed, cleanliness, teamwork, and consistency matter every shift.

Responsibilities

  • Work your assigned station during busy service
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and plating standards
  • Keep your station clean, stocked, and organized
  • Complete daily prep before and during service
  • Communicate clearly with chef, expo, and other cooks
  • Help teammates when the kitchen is busy
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and Toronto Public Health standards
  • Assist with cleaning, organizing, inventory, and kitchen closing duties
  • Maintain consistent quality, even during heavy rushes

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of line cook experience preferred
  • Experience in a busy restaurant kitchen
  • Strong ability to work under pressure
  • Able to work fry, grill, sauté, pantry, or prep stations
  • Fast, clean, organized, and reliable
  • Able to follow recipes and plating standards
  • Positive attitude and team-first mindset
  • Must be available evenings, weekends, holidays, and late nights
  • Must be located in Toronto or able to reliably commute to downtown Toronto

Job Types

Pay

$20.00 to $23.00 per hour, based on experience and station strength.
