Administrative Assistant – Legal Admin Government of Alberta Contract

Salary: $22-24/hr (depending on the level of skill and ability)

Location: Central Calgary

Temporary Contract - 4-6 month Contract with possibility for extension

Currently seeking a candidate with minimum 2-3 years Family Law or Litigation legal background for temporary assignment ; to assist with a a range of administrative duties within the office. This position is working within justice so a familiarity with Canadian/Albertan Court processes and previous legal administrative experience is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
RECEPTION

  • handling a range of calls from shareholder/clients
  • As required, have clients fill out the applicable office reporting form.
  • As required, book appointments for clients on probation behalf in their absence.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Accurately sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Prepare a variety of time sensitive, confidential Court reports, routine correspondence and related documents relative to guardianship and trusteeship
  • Maintain client files pursuant to guidelines including opening and closing.
  • Storage and archiving files and office administrative records

DATA ENTRY

  • Entering reports and files
  • Transferring of files both in and out of the office (physical and digital copies)
  • Responsible for researching and updating information referenced system
