About the Opportunity

Trillys Systems is assembling experienced Data Engineers to support a multi‑year Government of Canada initiative focused on building a robust, scalable, and efficient enterprise data environment.

This engagement is critical to enabling modern analytics, business intelligence, and data‑driven decision‑making across the organization. If you have experience designing data pipelines, building data warehouses, or supporting cloud‑scale data platforms, this opportunity is an excellent fit.

  • Location: Ottawa, ON (On‑site)
  • Contract Duration: Multi‑year (up to 5 years)
  • Clearance: Eligibility to obtain Canadian Security Clearance
  • Experience Level: Senior or Intermediate

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Implement and manage data warehousing solutions and data modeling
  • Build and maintain data infrastructure (databases, data lakes, data marts)
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all data assets
  • Optimize data processing performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders
  • Implement data monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
  • Maintain data documentation and metadata management
  • Support data migration and integration projects
  • Implement data security measures and access controls

Tasks

  • Design and implement modern data pipeline architectures

  • Create and manage relational and non‑relational data models

  • Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or 10+ years progressive IT experience
  • 10+ years designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes
  • 10+ years with data warehousing and data modeling
  • 10+ years with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.)
  • 10+ years with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • 10+ years with SQL and NoSQL database management
  • 10+ years implementing data quality and governance frameworks
  • 10+ years with data security and access controls
  • 10+ years supporting analytics and BI teams
  • 10+ years with version control, CI/CD, and automation tools

Intermediate Data Engineer

  • Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or 5+ years progressive IT experience
  • 5+ years designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes
  • 5+ years with data warehousing and data modeling
  • 5+ years with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.)
  • 5+ years with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
