Job Summary

The job candidate needs to be flexible between working with the cattle and working with equipment (skidsteer, tractor). If weak in one area, we are willing to train.

Duties include: Milking in a double 12 herring bone parlour, feeding and bedding cattle, helping to sort and move cattle, and general animal care. There will also be some tractor work depending upon abilities and the time of year when we are busy with fieldwork.

Job Type / Category

On this farm we currently milk 3 times a day; at 5AM, 1PM, and 8:30PM. Full time help covers the first two shifts and part timers cover the night shift at 8:30pm.

For this position shifts begin at 5 AM and end end between 4 and 5PM. This includes a breakfast and lunch break. On slow days there will be more time off in between milking shifts. Working every other weekend is a requirement. We try to only do the essential work on weekends so that everyone can have it a little easier (depends on time of year and fieldwork of course).

Housing on the farm.

SALARY: to be negotiated at time of interview. This is very dependent on your experience.
