Full job description

Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA)
Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator with strong database administration and Python scripting/automation skills. Candidates with experience in any major database technology such as Sybase, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or SingleStore are good.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain production database environments.
  • Perform database performance tuning and SQL query optimization.
  • Manage backup/recovery, replication, HA/DR, and database maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot database and performance-related issues.
  • Develop Python scripts to automate DBA and monitoring activities.
  • Work with development and infrastructure teams on database-related issues.
  • Support database upgrades, migrations, and production activities.

Required Skills:

  • 5-7 years of DBA experience.
  • Strong experience with at least one enterprise database platform.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and replication.
  • Hands-on Python scripting/automation experience.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or similar is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
