Job Description: Front Desk Agent/Night Auditor (Overnight shifts 11pm-7am)

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Night Auditor is to audit and balance guest reservations before closing the business day, but checking that all postings and charges are entered correctly. Once the business day has been closed, the night auditor files and submits the daily reports to the management team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms
  • Take, cancel and change room reservations
  • Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions to guests.
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures
  • Clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
  • Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
  • Handle wake-up calls
  • Manage cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately and securely.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Resolve any issues that arise during the guest's stay, including but not limited to billing disputes, room changes, and maintenance requests.
  • Testing pool and hot tub water parameters to ensure that everything is balanced prior to opening
  • Assist the housekeeping department with laundry and cleaning public areas as needed
  • Setting up breakfast and preparing the first batches of food before the breakfast attendant arrives

Qualifications

  • Education: High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Prior Night Audit experience is desirable

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • General knowledge of a hotel and its operations.
  • Ability to compile data and figures.
