Full job description

Job title: Restaurant Manager

Employer: Namaste Indian Cuisine Ltd

Business address: Unit 280 – 2950 Douglas St, Victoria, BC V8T 4N4

Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time. Must be willing to work flexible hours.

Wage: $40.00 per hour

Job duties:

  • Plan and organize daily operations of the restaurant and the food truck
  • Direct employees regarding their tasks across both the restaurant and the food truck
  • Prepare and monitor operating budgets for the restaurant and the food truck as separate cost centers
  • Monitor revenues to determine costs and profitability for each operation
  • Analyze budget and modify prices according to the budget
  • Implement operational procedures, including coordinating kitchen production schedules so food truck and catering orders prepared in the restaurant kitchen do not disrupt dine-in service
  • Recruit staff and oversee staff training, including cross-training staff to work food truck and catering events
  • Monitor staff performance
  • Organize and maintain inventory, including allocating inventory between the restaurant and the food truck
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed, including mobile food vending permit requirements for the food truck
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers
  • Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering and food truck events, including venue and event bookings and logistics

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Completion of diploma or any college program in a related field is required
  • 3 or more years of work experience in a supervisory role is required
  • Good at English as the language at work is English
  • Experience with catering or event-based food service is an asset
