SCOPE OF POSITION: Responsible for general laundry duties as assigned. These may include the sorting, loading, and folding of laundry and delivering to units. Maintains a regular cleaning schedule of laundry area

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum completion of Grade Twelve (12) required
• Knowledge and ability to operate and use institutional laundry equipment
• Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
• Must be comfortable working around seniors

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the processing of all linens and personal laundry items includes collecting, sorting, and folding etc.
• Responsible to use industrial washers and dryers according to guidelines
• Maintains laundry stocks and delivers lines to the neighbourhoods
• Responsible for the routine cleaning of all laundry equipment
• Replenishes supplies
• Reports defective equipment or linens to the Facility Support Manager
• Is familiar with facility Policies and Procedures, Fire and Safety, and Emergency procedures and carries out guidelines of same
• Attends staff education sessions as required
• Performs other related duties as required

Salary Range: In accordance with current collective agreement between Ocean View Continuing Care Centre and C.U.P.E. Local 1245.

Rotation: Combination of all shift types. Position requires weekend work. Schedule may change as necessary to ensure coverage.
