National Account Manager

Summary

Ready to take ownership and grow with a fast‑moving logistics brokerage team?
We are seeking an experienced National Account Manager to manage and grow key customer relationships across Canada and the United States. This role focuses on expanding strategic accounts, acquiring new clients, and identifying revenue opportunities while working closely with internal operations and carrier partners to ensure exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Growth & New Business Development

  • Prospect, qualify, and acquire new clients to drive revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through targeted outreach.
  • Identify high‑potential freight lanes, industries, and verticals for market expansion.
  • Conduct discovery calls and deliver tailored solutions based on customer needs.

2. Strategic Account Management & Portfolio Growth

  • Manage a portfolio of national and enterprise-level accounts across North America.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring consistent communication and service delivery.
  • Develop account plans and growth strategies to increase shipment volume and retention.

3. Revenue Optimization & Commercial Strategy

  • Lead pricing conversations, RFP responses, and contract negotiations with customers.
  • Monitor market trends, capacity, and competitive conditions to guide commercial decisions.
  • Provide insights on lane performance, customer opportunities, and revenue trends.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with operations, dispatch, and carrier relations to ensure seamless freight execution.
  • Communicate customer requirements clearly to internal teams and support the onboarding of new accounts.

5. Reporting, Analysis & CRM Management

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including pipeline activities, account status, and KPIs.
  • Prepare account reviews, growth plans, and performance reports for clients and leadership.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in sale, account management, and or freight brokerage, transportation logistics sales.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of freight types (FTL, LTL, reefer, flatbed, intermodal etc.), key industry sectors and major North American freight lanes.
  • Solid understanding of logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
  • Proven success managing national or multi-location accounts.
  • Customer-focused, resilient, growth-minded, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent English Proficiency with solid stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (i.e. HubSpot), Microsoft tools (i.e. Excel), and sales productivity tools.
