Job Summary
- Prepare for security interviews by analyzing all pertinent documents/information; checking CSIS records; and planning and scheduling meetings.
- Conduct interviews in accordance with the Directive on Security Screening (DSS), related policies and procedures.
- Advise employees about relevant Service policies and confirm that the employees will abide by them.
- Write reports by analysing and reviewing interview results as well as assessing the security relevance of the collected information by applying knowledge of the Risk Calculator guide and the security threats investigated by CSIS.
- Conduct enquiries relative to personnel security issues and make recommendations to the supervisor for follow-up.
- Provide security briefings to CSIS employees and CSIS contractors as required.
Education
- Undergraduate degree and two (2) years of experience*, or
- College diploma and four (4) years of experience*,
The Undergraduate degree / College diploma must be obtained from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.

Assets
An asset qualification is a qualification which can enhance the ability to perform the work based on current and future business requirements, but which is not strictly required. Positions will be staffed based on the selection decision principle and operational priorities.
- Experience working in areas related to intelligence or security matters;
- Knowledge of the Service mandate;
- Knowledge of the security screening process and the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) policies and guidelines;
- Recognition of the importance of, and respect for confidentiality and discretion.
The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job).

Security Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance. The process involves a security interview, a polygraph, and a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications. The use of illegal drugs is a criminal offense. Drug use is an important factor considered in your reliability and suitability assessment during the selection process. Therefore it is important not to use any illegal drugs from the time you submit your application.
