Crosslinx Transit Solutions Maintenance (CTSM) is seeking an experienced Facility Maintenance Supervisor to join our 24/7 Maintenance team on the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Line (ECLRT) in Toronto, Ontario. This is a long-term career opportunity in a growing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and performance of Facility Maintenance Technician teams across the ECLRT.

The incumbent must be willing to work night shifts as the primary schedule, with rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise, schedule, and deploy Facility Maintenance Technicians across assigned shifts and work zones
  • Conduct regular team briefings; communicate daily priorities, work order status, and safety-critical information
  • Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and corrective direction, and document performance concerns in accordance with CTSM HR policy and the applicable Collective Agreement
  • Administer progressive discipline at the first level, in coordination with HR and senior leadership
  • Identify training needs and coordinate with HR and Training to support technician development and qualification maintenance
  • Act as the shift-level representative for OHSA supervisor obligations; ensure all employees comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
  • Oversee execution of preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities for ECLRT facility systems, including mechanical, plumbing, structural, architectural, fire/life safety, and building control systems
  • Review and assign work orders through CMMS; monitor completion, quality, and compliance with applicable standards
  • Respond to and manage escalated Help Desk service events and emergency calls; coordinate resources and communicate status to senior management
  • Ensure facility systems are maintained to applicable Ontario codes and standards, including the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, OHSA, and Ministry of Environment Regulations
  • Verify that work performed in customer-facing spaces minimizes disruption to LRT service operations
  • Enforce CTSM's Fitness for Duty Policy, Safe Work Practices, and all applicable safety legislation on shift
  • Conduct safety observations, toolbox talks, and pre-job hazard assessments; document findings and corrective actions
  • Ensure proper use and availability of PPE and appropriate tools for all assigned tasks
  • Oversee the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with applicable legislation
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns at the first level; escalate as required and complete documentation in accordance with CTSM procedures
  • Monitor quality, scope compliance, and pricing of work performed by outside contractors and service vendors
  • Verify accuracy of material and service deliveries; review and approve purchase order requests within delegated authority
  • Support procurement processes by identifying supply needs and recommending preferred sources for stock materials
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, work order records, and operational reports within the CMMS and other CTSM systems
  • Prepare and submit regular operational summaries to the Director, Facilities Management
  • Track and manage tool and equipment inventories; ensure calibration and serviceability of instruments
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director, Facilities Management

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related technical trade, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
  • Certification of Qualification and/or trade license in one or more relevant disciplines (HVAC Mechanic, Plumber, Fire Suppression, or Building Operator) strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, and Ministry of Environment Regulations.
  • Demonstrated supervisory competence: scheduling, performance management, first-level discipline, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgement skills; ability to assess operational and personnel situations and take decisive, appropriate action.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software for work order management, reporting, and scheduling; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear operational reports and communicate effectively with technical staff, contractors, and management.
  • Valid non-probationary Class “G” Province of Ontario Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Completion of supervisory health and safety training (e.g., Working at Heights, WHMIS, Supervisor Safety Certification) is required or must be completed within 90 days of appointment.

Who we are?

Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is a P3 consortium comprised of EllisDon, SNC-Lavalin, Aecon and ACS - Dragados. CTS has been selected by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to deliver the ECLRT Project. CTSM is part of this joint venture and will provide Maintenance and Rehabilitation Services for System Assets of the 19-kilometre ECLRT for a 30-year contract term.

Please note, we are located at 85 Industry Street, Toronto, Ontario, and cannot accommodate working remotely. The successful candidate will be expected to physically work at this location.
