Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated,detail-oriented and experienced Criminal Litigation Paralegal specializing in Family Law Asset cases to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing complex family law asset disputes, supporting attorneys through meticulous research, drafting, and case management. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will ensure smooth case progression from initial filings to resolution, providing exceptional support in a fast-paced legal environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise within criminal litigation and family law asset matters. REQUIRED: Must have at least 3 years of Criminal Law experience.

Duties

  • Assist attorneys with case preparation by organizing and managing legal documents related to family law asset disputes
  • Conduct thorough research using tools like LexisNexis to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and clarity
  • Proofread all legal materials meticulously to ensure accuracy and compliance with court standards
  • Manage case files using document management systems such as iManage and maintain organized filing systems for easy retrieval
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately, including updating case statuses and maintaining detailed logs of case activities
  • Support client interviews by preparing questionnaires and summarizing interview notes for attorney review
  • Coordinate court filings, track deadlines, and ensure timely submission of documents in accordance with procedural requirements

Skills

  • REQUIRED: Must have at least 3 years of Criminal Law experience.
  • Proven proofreading skills to ensure error-free legal documents and correspondence
  • Familiarity with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis for comprehensive case investigation
  • Strong project management abilities to handle multiple cases efficiently while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent interviewing skills to gather pertinent information from clients and witnesses effectively
  • Proficiency with document management systems like iManage for organizing case files and records
  • Solid administrative experience with clerical tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining organized records
  • Exceptional organizational skills to prioritize tasks in a busy litigation environment
  • Effective research skills to locate relevant legal information swiftly and accurately
  • Writing skills capable of producing clear, concise legal drafts and summaries
  • Knowledge of legal drafting standards specific to family law asset cases
  • Phone etiquette that ensures professional communication with clients, courts, and colleagues
