Full job description

Some people love predictable administrative work.

This is probably not the role for them.

This role is for someone who enjoys being the operational “mission control” behind a large, fast-moving workforce across remote project sites in Canada. Someone who likes solving puzzles, thinking ahead, coordinating moving pieces, and creating calm and structure when priorities shift quickly.

At MATRIX, we provide camps, logistics, and aviation management services to the mining and exploration industries across Canada. Accuracy, urgency, communication, and follow-through genuinely matter here.

Why This Role Is Different

You’ll support complex workforce logistics across Canada while living in the South Okanagan and enjoying the lifestyle of a smaller community rather than living in a remote camp or major city.

This is a nationally scaled operational role with real responsibility and impact. It is perfect for a person who wants to live in a small town but still have a ‘big city career’.

What Success Looks Like

The best people in this role create operational calm.

  • Schedules run smoothly with fewer last-minute issues
  • Field employees know exactly where they need to be and when
  • Charter approvals and manifests are accurate and on time
  • Payroll can trust the schedule as a source of truth
  • Travel costs decrease through better planning
  • Problems are prevented before they escalate

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating commercial and charter travel for remote project sites
  • Preparing and maintaining workforce rotation schedules
  • Managing crew schedules, disruptions, and urgent schedule adjustments
  • Working closely with Recruiting, Payroll, Operations, and Site Teams
  • Maintaining highly accurate schedules, manifests, and travel records
  • Participating in rotating after-hours/on-call operational coverage

The Type of Person Who Usually Thrives Here

You may come from scheduling, dispatch, airline crew rostering, emergency coordination, or another operationally intensive scheduling/rostering/dispatch environment.

You probably:

  • double-check details without being asked,
  • think three steps ahead,
  • escalate issues early,
  • communicate proactively,
  • stay calm under pressure,
  • and take pride in accuracy and follow-through.

You enjoy operational complexity rather than being overwhelmed by it.

This Role Will Likely Frustrate You If…

  • you strongly prefer predictable Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm work,
  • you dislike urgency or operational pressure,
  • you need constant direction or black-and-white instructions,
  • or you prefer slower-paced administrative environments.

Requirements

Experience in scheduling, dispatch, workforce coordination, or operational administration is strongly preferred.

Strong organization, attention to detail, communication skills, systems literacy, and willingness to participate in rotating weekend/on-call coverage are essential.

  • Vision care

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Osoyoos, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Are you willing and able to work a rotating schedule which includes shared weekend and after-hours support call coverage for travelling employee management?

  • Schedule management: 1 year (required)

  • english fluently (required)
