Full job description

Nama is looking for a Product Designer with a deep understanding of activewear, an obsessive eye for fit, and an elevated point of view on product.

This role sits at the intersection of design, technical development, fit, quality and merchandising. You’ll take product from initial concept through development, working closely with our Creative and Operations teams and directly with our supplier partners.

We’re looking for someone deeply immersed in activewear and product — someone with an instinctive understanding of fit, proportion and construction, who notices the details others miss. You should be able to look at a garment and immediately see what could be sharper, more flattering or more considered, with the technical ability to turn that instinct into a better product.

What You’ll Own

  • Create and maintain detailed tech packs, including construction, measurements, trims and product specifications
  • Develop and maintain grading blocks and size specifications
  • Lead fit sessions from first sample through final approval, identifying and communicating fit and construction corrections
  • Own product fit, proportion and consistency across styles and collections
  • Translate creative direction and product concepts into commercially viable, production-ready designs
  • Develop new silhouettes, details and product ideas aligned with Nama’s design language
  • Work directly with suppliers on new product development, sampling and revisions
  • Manage day-to-day supplier correspondence and coordination throughout the development process
  • Review development samples and provide clear, actionable comments
  • Own product quality standards throughout development, including fit, construction, measurements, colour, trims and workmanship, and partner with Operations to ensure those standards carry through bulk production
  • Maintain an active eye on quality beyond sample approval — reviewing how new products are arriving, performing and being received once they reach customers
  • Review customer feedback, returns, reviews and recurring product issues, translating those learnings into tangible product improvements
  • Identify quality or fit issues early and work with suppliers and Operations to drive corrective action
  • Partner with Operations to support development timelines and ensure products move efficiently toward production
  • Contribute to merchandising and collection planning, helping shape product mix, silhouettes, colour and opportunities within each collection
  • Continuously study the activewear and fashion landscape — product, construction, fit, fabrication and emerging silhouettes

Who You Are

You are obsessed with product.

You know activewear intimately — aesthetically and technically. You understand fit, proportion, construction and fabrication, and you notice the details that separate an average product from an exceptional one.

You have a strong, elevated design point of view. You understand the market and where it’s moving, but you’re not interested in simply following it. You’re constantly thinking about what could feel new, what could be improved and what customers will want next.

You take ownership of the final product. Your responsibility doesn’t end when a sample is approved. You pay attention to how products perform once they reach customers, seek out feedback and turn those learnings into better product.

You’re detail-oriented, proactive and comfortable holding a high standard. You notice when something is off and take responsibility for fixing it.

You’re also forward-thinking in how you work, actively using AI, technology and better systems to improve speed, accuracy and efficiency.

Above all, you move with urgency, take ownership and care deeply about making exceptional product.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience designing and developing women’s activewear is required
  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and fit
  • Advanced experience creating tech packs and measurement specifications
  • Strong understanding of grading and garment blocks
  • Experience conducting fittings and communicating fit corrections
  • Strong understanding of product quality control and garment workmanship standards
  • Experience working directly with overseas suppliers and factories
  • Strong Adobe Illustrator skills
  • A highly developed eye for silhouette, proportion, colour and detail
  • Deep knowledge of the contemporary activewear and fashion market
  • Exceptionally thorough and detail-oriented — you care about getting the small things right and understand how seemingly minor misses can have a meaningful impact downstream
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability — you follow things through to completion and understand how your decisions affect the broader business
  • Comfortable operating in a highly dynamic environment where priorities, processes and responsibilities evolve as the company grows
  • Willing to work outside your immediate area of expertise and take on new challenges as the role and business evolve
  • Curious and forward-thinking about using AI, technology and new tools to improve speed, accuracy and how the product development function operates

We’re looking for someone who wants real ownership over the product they create and is excited by the opportunity to help raise the standard of what Nama makes.

Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • Paid time off
  • Store discount
