Company Overview

Screen Acting Academy is an educational service company for aspiring actors and all creative spirits that want to establish a career in the performing arts industry. Founded in 2012 by Canadian casting director Mike Migliara, it serves as a hub for creative artists, bringing actors, filmmakers, and industry professionals together. Our mission is to guide and mentor aspiring actors by teaching proven acting techniques such as Hagen, Adler, Rotenberg and others to help them succeed.

Summary

We are expanding our team at our Calgary studio and looking for passionate, skilled, and inspiring instructors to join our Performing Arts programming. If you love teaching and want to help students build confidence, creativity, and technique, we’d love to hear from you!

Open Positions

Performing Arts Instructor Teens & Adults

Flexible Availability for Fall Term 2026, starting in late September 2026. Evenings and weekends.

What You’ll Do

● Teach engaging classes that foster creativity, discipline, and performance skills for camera

● Provide performance feedback and mentorship to students of varying ages and skill levels.

● Develop warm up lesson plans that balance technique, creativity, and fun.

● Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

● Background in theatre, music/singing, and/or performing arts.

  • BFA or equivalent degree or diploma or formal training in Theatre & Performing Arts an asset

● Previous teaching experience preferred, but not necessary

● Strong communication and leadership skills.

● Passion for inspiring and motivating students.

● Create performance-based warm-up lesson plans incorporating improv, vocal, and movement exercises.

Schedule & Pay

● Part-time & Casual positions, with potential for more hours as programs expand.

● Flexible scheduling for Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's 6:30PM - 9:30PM and Sundays from 1:30PM - 4:30PM
