Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Crane Operator to join our construction team! In this vital role, you will operate various types of cranes to lift, move, and position materials and equipment safely and efficiently across diverse construction sites. Your expertise will ensure projects stay on schedule while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties

  • Operate different types of cranes, including boom trucks and rigging equipment, to lift and move heavy materials accurately.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections of crane machinery to ensure safety and proper functioning before each use.
  • Coordinate with ground crew members using effective communication skills to execute lifts smoothly and safely.
  • Set up cranes and rigging gear according to project specifications, ensuring stability and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Monitor weather conditions and site surroundings continuously to adapt operations as needed for safety.
  • Maintain detailed logs of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities for accountability.
  • Assist with basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs to keep equipment in optimal condition.

Requirements

  • Proven construction experience with a focus on crane operation or related roles.
  • Valid crane operator certification/license as required by local regulations.
  • Class 3, with class 9 endorsement. Interprovincial Red Seal Valid in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Experience operating forklifts, boom trucks, or other heavy machinery is highly desirable.
  • Strong rigging skills with knowledge of load calculations and safety procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multilingual or bilingual environment; excellent verbal skills are essential.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a good understanding of machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent customer service mindset when interacting with team members, contractors, or clients on-site.
