Family Law Clerk (Remote – Ontario)

Taerk Family Law is a growing boutique law firm dedicated exclusively to family law. We are committed to delivering exceptional legal representation while fostering a collaborative, supportive, and respectful workplace.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Family Law Clerk to join our team in a fully remote position. Family law experience is an asset, but we also welcome applications from exceptional graduates of an accredited Law Clerk program who are eager to build a long-term career in family law.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with our lawyers and assist with all aspects of family law matters, including:

  • Preparing court forms, affidavits, financial statements, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Drafting correspondence and routine legal documents.
  • Organizing and maintaining electronic client files.
  • Reviewing and organizing financial disclosure.
  • Preparing and filing court materials electronically while ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
  • Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties.
  • Scheduling client meetings, mediations, examinations, and court attendances.
  • Assisting with file management, trial preparation, and other legal support as required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Law Clerk program.
  • Family law experience is preferred, with approximately one year of experience considered an asset.
  • Exceptional new graduates with a demonstrated interest in family law are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Professional, dependable, and committed to providing outstanding client service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with DivorceMate, ACL, Case Center, or other family law software is an asset.
