THE JOB

You will play a crucial role in assisting our lawyers in providing legal services to clients as either a Licensed Paralegal and/or Law Clerk.

We are seeking a candidate with 2 to 3 years of civil litigation experience at all Court levels (which need not be in employment law). In addition to assisting with litigation at all Court levels, your responsibilities will include conducting research, drafting legal documents, and assisting the responsible lawyer at all stages. To excel in this role, you should have strong research and analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to assess negotiations effectively. Additionally, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently, with appropriate mentorship, are essential for success in this position.

Duties:

- Assist in litigation of a variety of employment law matters
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings
- Assisting the lawyer at all stages of litigation proceedings including mediations, examinations, pre-trial, and trials
- Communication with clients
- Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to develop legal strategies

EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in employment law and/or litigation. Experience in employment law not required but will be an asset to any candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Law degree from an accredited institution
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario preferred
  • Experience in employment law and/or and litigation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

COMPENSATION

We offer a range of incentive compensation with salary to be commensurate with experience in field.

Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year
