Job Summary:

The Forklift Driver will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move electronic waste (e-waste) throughout the facility. In addition to operating equipment, the role includes performing plant cleaning duties to maintain a safe, organized, and sanitary work environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring the plant operates efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe workspace for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Forklift Operation:

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport e-waste and other materials throughout the facility.
  • Move pallets, containers, and recyclables to designated areas, ensuring materials are properly stored for processing or disposal.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of delivery trucks and trailers with electronic waste using forklifts.

Plant Cleaning and Maintenance:

  • Perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the plant is kept tidy and organized, including sweeping floors, removing debris, and cleaning up spills in all areas of the plant.
  • Clean machinery, tools, and equipment to ensure they remain in proper working condition.
  • Maintain cleanliness in break rooms, offices, restrooms, and other employee common areas.
  • Empty trash receptacles, recycling bins, and ensure waste is disposed of properly and in accordance with company procedures.

Safety Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols to ensure personal safety and the safety of others when operating equipment and performing cleaning duties.
  • Properly store chemicals and cleaning agents, ensuring they are handled according to safety guidelines.
  • Conduct regular checks of work areas for potential safety hazards and immediately report any concerns to supervisors.

Inventory and Material Handling:

  • Assist with inventory management by keeping track of e-waste and materials being moved or processed within the plant.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning supplies and equipment used, ensuring that adequate cleaning materials are stocked and available.

General Plant Support:

  • Work alongside other team members to ensure the plant operates smoothly by performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Assist in other areas of the plant as needed, including material sorting, loading, unloading, or assisting the production team.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform basic maintenance on forklifts, cleaning equipment, and other machinery as needed, reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
  • Ensure forklifts and cleaning equipment are properly maintained and operational.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in a warehouse or industrial setting.
  • Valid Forklift Certification required (or ability to obtain within a specified period).
  • Previous cleaning or janitorial experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic cleaning and maintenance techniques and use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety standards and procedures in an industrial setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the plant for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy items and assist with material handling.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning equipment and workspaces.

Work Conditions:

  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to temperature fluctuations and noisy conditions.
  • Regularly exposed to industrial machinery and e-waste materials.
  • Will be required to always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating forklifts or performing cleaning tasks.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime, as needed.

Shifts Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm with occasional overtime

Monday-Friday 3:30pm -12:00 am with occasional overtime

Shift timing: Monday to Friday and weekend as needed.

AM Shift - 7am to 3:30pm

PM Shift - 3:30pm- 12:00am

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
