Full job description

We’re Hiring: Registered Counsellors in Nanaimo

The Counselling HUB is a growing psychotherapy practice located in Nanaimo, BC, offering in-person counselling locally and virtual services across BC and Ontario. We work with individuals, couples, and families.

The HUB stands for Helping, Understanding, and Belonging—principles at the core of our work. We are looking for clinicians who share our professional values of authenticity, integrity, and honesty and bring those values into their relationships with clients.

We currently have two independent contractor opportunities available.

Part-Time Contractor

The part-time clinician will have access to our Nanaimo office on Tuesdays, Fridays, and every other Wednesday, with flexibility to determine the hours they offer on those days.

Full-Time Contractor

We are also seeking a clinician who wants to build a fuller caseload through a combination of in-person and virtual counselling.

We actively market our clinicians through our website, social media, and community relationships. Based on current practice growth, we anticipate supporting clinicians in building their desired caseload over approximately one to three months; however, caseload growth cannot be guaranteed.

Compensation

Independent contractors are paid per completed session:

  • Individual counselling: $90 per 50-minute session
  • Couples counselling: $105 per session
  • Family counselling: $150 per session

As independent contractors, clinicians are responsible for their own taxes, professional registration, and liability insurance.

What The HUB Provides

  • Furnished office space in Downtown Nanaimo
  • Jane practice-management software
  • Payment processing and billing
  • Administrative support
  • Website and social-media marketing

  • Be currently registered and in good standing as an RCC, CCC, or RSW
  • Maintain their own professional registration
  • Carry current professional liability insurance
  • Practise within their areas of training and competence
  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and ethical practice

Experience providing couples or family counselling is welcome but not required. Clinicians interested in developing in these areas will be supported in pursuing appropriate training, consultation, and supervision.
