We are currently seeking a motivated Corporate Services Assistant to join our team.
Reporting to the Corporate Paralegal, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare and file annual returns, annual resolutions, and related corporate maintenance documents for Manitoba, federal, and extra-provincial corporations.
- Prepare and file notices of change, including changes to directors, officers, and registered office information.
- Conduct business name reservations, registrations, renewals, limited partnership renewals, and related follow-up.
- Conduct corporate searches in Manitoba, Canada, the United States, and other jurisdictions as required.
- Update minute books, ledgers, registers, and corporate records, including simple director and officer updates.
- Review and maintain corporate files, including scanning and filing key corporate documents and assisting with file openings and closings.
- Receive, review, and respond to routine corporate services inquiries, escalating more complex matters to Corporate Paralegals as appropriate.
- Prepare correspondence, invoices, reports, and billing related to corporate filings, registrations, renewals, and searches.
- Review and update corporate database records, including annual return tracking, business name expiry dates, year-end information, accountant information, and other relevant corporate details.
- Provide general administrative support to the Corporate Services team, including organizing files, ordering certificates or seals, and assisting Lawyers and Paralegals as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate from a recognized Legal Assistant or Paralegal program;
- A minimum of one year experience in a Law Firm environment is considered to be an asset;
- Strong communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- Excellent organization and time management skills;
- Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook;
- Ability to multi-task and work productively.
