About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Site Safety Officer to lead safety efforts on a project in Port Hope. This role requires a seasoned professional who can take ownership of site safety, provide leadership, and act as a trusted advisor to both clients and project teams.

You will play a critical role in driving safety strategy, mentoring others, and ensuring regulatory compliance at a high level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of site-specific safety programs
  • Oversee inspections, audits, and compliance activities
  • Provide expert guidance to project leadership and stakeholders
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Act as primary liaison with regulatory agencies (e.g., Ministry of Labour)
  • Mentor and support junior safety personnel (if applicable)
  • Participate in high-level planning meetings and risk assessments

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 7–10 years of construction safety experience or Nuclear
  • NCSO designation strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of OHSA and applicable regulations
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence and drive safety culture on complex projects

Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour

Licence/Certification:

  • CHSO, CRSP or other recognized Safety Designation (preferred)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED Certification (preferred)
  • WAH Certificate (preferred)
  • Construction based background (preferred)

Work Location: In person
