Full job description

Employment Type: Full-Time Location: In-office 5 days a week – Mississauga, ON About MeadowBrook MeadowBrook is a commercial and industrial construction and facility-services company based in Mississauga, serving clients across the GTA, Kitchener, and Oshawa. Through our Design, Build, Maintain, and 24/7 Assistance services, we solve facility challenges from construction through ongoing service and emergency response. As we grow, we are strengthening the professional and leadership talent behind the business and offer high-ownership people the opportunity to make a visible impact. About the Role Reporting directly to the President, the Talent Acquisition Partner owns full-cycle recruitment for MeadowBrook's office, professional, management, and executive positions. You will lead each search from intake and market strategy through assessment, offer, and close while partnering closely with senior leaders. This role is for a proactive recruiter who enjoys finding hard-to-reach talent, creating interest, and keeping searches moving. The portfolio may include Finance, Operations, Project Management, Estimating, Business Development, Technology, People & Culture, and senior leadership. Success requires initiative, sound judgment, and direct sourcing - not waiting for applicants. What You Will Be Responsible For Search Ownership & Execution
  • Own the full recruitment lifecycle from intake and market mapping through offer and close.
  • Translate business needs into a clear candidate profile, search strategy, and target-company list.
  • Proactively engage passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, referrals, networks, and targeted outreach.
  • Build pipelines ahead of demand for recurring and business-critical roles.
  • Keep searches moving with urgency and adjust sourcing approaches quickly when the market is not responding.
Professional & Executive Assessment
  • Conduct structured interviews that assess achievements, judgment, leadership capability, motivation, values, compensation, and long-term fit.
  • Build role-specific scorecards and present focused shortlists outlining each candidate's strengths, risks, motivation, and recommendation.
  • Manage confidential and executive-level searches with sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
President & Leadership Partnership
  • Advise the President and senior leaders, lead intake discussions, and challenge requirements when market evidence supports a different approach.
  • Maintain a clear communication cadence and escalate obstacles early with a recommended solution.
  • Provide practical market intelligence on candidate availability, compensation, competitor activity, and search risks.
  • Anticipate future hiring needs and build talent pools before vacancies become urgent.
Candidate Engagement, Offer & Close
  • Deliver timely, direct communication and understand candidate motivations early to maintain engagement.
  • Coordinate references, offer approvals, and offer presentation while managing counteroffer and withdrawal risk.
  • Actively close selected candidates and maintain relationships with strong prospects for future opportunities.
Process, Data & Employer Brand
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records, interview notes, pipeline stages, and source data in the applicant tracking system.
  • Provide concise weekly reporting to the President on progress, pipeline health, risks, next actions, and key metrics.
  • Ensure fair, compliant hiring practices and strengthen MeadowBrook's employer brand through every candidate interaction.
Qualifications Required
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience, with recruitment as the primary function.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting office, professional, management, and executive talent through both direct sourcing and inbound channels.
  • Confidence partnering directly with a President, executives, and senior hiring leaders.
  • Experience independently managing multiple searches in a high-accountability, results-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, supported by high initiative, organization, discretion, and urgency.
  • Strong business acumen, judgment, intuition, and the ability to understand unfamiliar roles quickly.
  • Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter, applicant tracking systems, Google Workspace, and modern sourcing tools.
Preferred
  • Experience recruiting in a privately held, high-growth, construction, industrial, or business-services environment.
  • Agency recruitment, executive search, or other performance-based recruitment experience.
  • Cross-functional recruitment experience, including compensation benchmarking and senior-level offer negotiation.
Who Will Thrive in This Role
  • You are a true recruiter at heart. You enjoy the hunt, the outreach, the conversations, and the satisfaction of closing the right candidate.
  • You take personal ownership of open roles and create momentum without waiting for reminders, detailed instructions, or perfect conditions.
  • You are curious and intuitive. You quickly understand unfamiliar roles, notice what is not being said, and ask the questions that improve the search.
  • You are resourceful and persistent. When one approach is not working, you test another rather than allowing the requisition to stall.
  • You are confident with senior leaders and comfortable offering candid, evidence-based advice while remaining practical and solutions-focused.
  • You care about both speed and quality and understand that a strong candidate experience is part of successfully closing talent.
Why MeadowBrook?
  • Work directly with the President and gain meaningful visibility into the company's strategy, growth plans, and most important hiring decisions.
  • Own a focused corporate and executive recruitment portfolio without routine HR administration competing for your attention.
  • Receive the autonomy and trust to build search strategies, improve tools and processes, and influence how MeadowBrook attracts and selects talent.
  • Recruit positions with clear business impact - the people you hire will help shape the company's leadership capability and next stage of growth.
  • Join an entrepreneurial, results-oriented environment where strong ideas can move quickly and individual contribution is easy to see.
  • Benefit from a performance-based compensation model that recognizes successful hires and measurable results.
What Success Looks Like
  • You become a trusted advisor to the President and hiring leaders because you understand the business, bring honest market insight, and follow through.
  • Every active requisition has a clear strategy, defined next actions, and consistent forward movement.
  • Strong candidate pipelines are created through direct sourcing, networking, referrals, and targeted outreach - not job postings alone.
  • Qualified shortlists reach decision-makers quickly, and search risks are identified early with a practical recommendation.
  • Candidates remain engaged and informed, offers are professionally managed, and avoidable withdrawals are reduced.
  • The people hired perform, stay, and strengthen MeadowBrook, while the recruitment function becomes more proactive, disciplined, and scalable.
