Job Purpose:

Responsible for formulating, implementing and managing the Banks Mortgage business originated through the broker channel.

Area of Responsibility

1. Sales: Formulate, implement and manage the mortgage sales channel (Branch, Brokerages and mortgage lending industries) in line with the Banks objectives. Build a sustainable channel to funnel sales opportunities.

2. Formulate and manage the bank’s mortgage strategy with focus on profitability and market penetration.

3. Generate budgeted volumes of mortgage loan origination at desired spreads to ensure profitability of the business.

4. Sales Force Management: Coach / mentor teams across channels to evolve sales with service culture and build a strong working relationship with branch managers, product and marketing teams.

5. Manage and grow the mortgage broker channel through effective relationship building and active representation of the Bank in important forums.

6. Design and roll out sales initiatives / campaigns: work closely with relevant teams (Legal, Compliance, Operations, Mktg. / Product / Customer Service , Risk, Treasury, Finance).

7. Client / Account Management: Maintain key relationships with brokers, mortgage associations, and agent communities. Enhance goodwill and equity for the Bank to create business opportunities.

8. Provide feedback and support as a member of the Management Committee in various initiatives.

9. Build a long term plan on bringing all outsourced activities in-house with emphasis on in-sourcing underwriting and servicing.

10. Liaise with the risk team to build a risk management framework with the long term objective of bringing all processes in-house and addressing identified risks of frauds, outsourcing risks, concentration risks etc,

11. Liaise with the finance and operations teams to build systems for robust accounting and MIS.

12. Work closely with the securitization desk to further strengthen securitization as a cost of funds reduction tool.

13. Work closely with the treasury team to build risk hedging tools, systems, policies and procedures.

14. Other duties as assigned.
