Dags & Willow is an iconic Fine Cheese & Gourmet Food store located in downtown Collingwood. We offer a selection of house-made prepared food and host exceptional catered events either in The Willow Room or off-site.

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and service, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering delicious meals that meet our customers' expectations while working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items, including but not limited to: e.g., salads, sandwiches, entrees
  • Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
  • Ensure food quality and presentation standards are met
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Assist with kitchen operations, including stocking and prepping ingredients
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of food and supplies
  • May be required to assist with setting up and overseeing buffets

Qualifications:

  • Proven professional kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
  • Ability to follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Culinary school diploma or certificate is a plus

Experience

  • Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is required.
  • Familiarity with food preparation techniques, meal preparation, and kitchen operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are necessary for success in this role.
  • A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences is highly valued.
