POSITION OVERVIEW
**Please note that this is a temporary 18 month contract**
The Account Manager, Virtual Business Centre - Connect, maintains relationships with clients in the small business segment to promote business development and client loyalty.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Develop and implement a client growth and retention strategy to build a long-term profitable loan portfolio with clients, while providing high quality client service.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for financing and consulting services while focusing on the development of current portfolios.
- Work as a team to provide outstanding client service and ensure smooth work sharing.
- Develop and implement an individual and group marketing plan that is consistent with the strategy and goals of the Virtual Business Center portfolio. Achieve financial goals related to expected loss rate, profitability, revenue growth and customer retention.
- Use credit judgment to ensure loan proposals are of high quality, acceptable risk and meet established standards. Ensures that they meet accepted credit criteria and comply with BDC policies and procedures.
- Analyze, negotiate and prepare high quality loan proposals through thorough credit analysis, due diligence and sound account management practices.
- Maintain awareness of changes in policies, procedures, and processes.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business Administration
- 3 to 5 years’ experience as a banker; proven sales skills and passion for entrepreneurship
- Proven talent in business development and client relationship management
- Ability to make sound credit decisions and a thorough understanding of credit policies and practices
- Ability to identify business opportunities for entrepreneurs who will benefit from BDC's unique suite of services (financing and consulting)
- In-depth knowledge of BDC products, services, policies and procedures
- Excellent negotiation skills and a focus on results
- Team player with a thorough understanding of the dynamics of small business and underserved markets
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage a high volume of client relationships
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
