Le professeur Jérémy Boulanger-Bonnelly souhaite embaucher un·e étudiant·e qui contribuera à titre d’assistant·e de recherche au projet « L’accès à la justice : perspectives citoyennes et judiciaires ».
Le projet
Le projet, financé par le Fonds de recherche du Québec, documentera de manière empirique les conceptions de l’accès à la justice qu’adoptent les justiciables et les juges québécois. En mettant au jour et en comparant ces perspectives, le projet vise à enrichir notre compréhension du concept d’accès à la justice.
Le poste
La personne sélectionnée sera appelée à collaborer activement à toutes les étapes du projet. Elle pourra notamment mener les activités suivantes :
- Collaborer à la préparation des entretiens avec des justiciables et de la demande au comité d’éthique.
- Recruter des justiciables et participer aux entretiens semi-dirigés avec eux.
- Procéder à l’analyse thématique des transcriptions de ces entretiens.
- Co-présenter les résultats du projet dans le cadre de colloque(s) nationaux ou internationaux.
- Rédiger, à titre de co-auteur, les publications qui découleront de ce projet (article scientifique, communications publiques, etc.).
Qualifications requises
La personne sélectionnée devra :
- Être un·e étudiant·e en droit ou dans une autre discipline pertinente.
- Avoir une certaine expérience de recherche, que ce soit en droit ou dans un autre domaine des sciences sociales.
- Avoir un intérêt pour la recherche en accès à la justice.
- Être disponible pour travailler une moyenne de 6 à 8 heures par semaine (d’août 2026 à avril 2027), étant entendu que le nombre exact d’heures par semaine est flexible.
- Maîtriser le français, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit (la connaissance de l’anglais est un atout).
- Toute expérience en méthodes de recherche qualitative et avec le logiciel NVivo (ou similaire) est un atout.
- Le taux horaire sera déterminé en fonction de votre expérience.
Le projet étant d’une durée de trois ans, la personne choisie serait idéalement intéressée à poursuivre le travail au-delà d’avril 2027, mais il ne s’agit pas d’une exigence ferme.

Professor Jérémy Boulanger-Bonnelly is seeking to hire a McGill student to contribute as a Research Assistant to the project "Access to Justice: Citizen and Judicial Perspectives."
The Project
Funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec, this project will empirically document how Quebec litigants and judges conceptualize access to justice. By identifying and comparing these perspectives, the project aims to deepen our understanding of the concept of access to justice.
The Position
The selected candidate will actively collaborate on all stages of the project. Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the preparation of interviews with litigants and the ethics committee application.
- Recruiting litigants and participating in semi-structured interviews with them.
- Conducting thematic analysis of interview transcripts.
- Co-presenting the project's findings at national and international conferences.
- Co-authoring publications resulting from the project (scientific articles, public communications, etc.).
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must:
- Be enrolled in a McGill law program or another relevant discipline.
- Have some research experience, whether in law or another social science field.
- Demonstrate an interest in research on access to justice.
- Be available to work an average of 6 to 8 hours per week from August 2026 to April 2027, with flexibility in the exact weekly schedule.
- Be fluent in French, both spoken and written (knowledge of English is considered an asset).
- Experience with qualitative research methods and NVivo (or similar qualitative data analysis software) is considered an asset.
- The hourly rate will be determined by your experience.
As the project will run for three years, the ideal candidate would be interested in continuing beyond April 2027, although this is not a strict requirement.
