Summary: We need a Technical Writer to document and standardize our plant's SOPs — machine operation, lab testing, sampling, sanitation/CIP procedures, HTST operation, and packaging line setup. 12-month contract, with possible extension depending on project scope, working directly with department leads.

Responsibilities:

  • Interview department staff (production, maintenance, QA/lab, sanitation, packaging) to capture current procedures
  • Write clear, step-by-step SOPs for machine operation, sanitation/CIP procedures, HTST, lab/sampling, and packaging line setup
  • Build one standard SOP template for all departments
  • Get department heads to review and sign off
  • Keep procedure documents up to date and clearly labeled with version numbers

Qualifications:

  • Technical writing experience in food, beverage, or dairy manufacturing (required)
  • Experience with GMP/HACCP SOPs
  • Able to turn operator know-how into clear written steps
  • Strong interviewing skills
  • HTST, CIP/sanitation, or packaging/filling experience is a plus
