Full job description

Ideaspace Consulting is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Outreach Team Members to support a regional Drinking Water Conservation Plan Outreach and Education Support Program.

This summer, Outreach and Education Team Members will help increase public awareness of regional outdoor watering restrictions through neighbourhood outreach and education. Working in teams of two, you will travel assigned routes throughout the Metro Vancouver region, identify non-compliant lawn and garden watering, and deliver educational information packages to residents.

This role is ideal for people who enjoy working outdoors, are comfortable driving throughout the region, and take pride in representing public programs in a professional and respectful way.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings
  • Travel assigned residential routes with another team member
  • Monitor neighbourhoods for non-compliant lawn and garden watering
  • Deliver educational information packages to residences when required
  • Answer basic questions from residents when approached
  • Document observations and report field activities to the Outreach Team Manager
  • Represent Ideaspace Consulting and their client professionally at all times

SCHEDULE

  • Contract term: June 13 to July 31, 2026
  • Approximately 26 hours per week
  • Saturday and Sunday availability is required
  • Shifts are typically scheduled between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
  • Weekly hours include outreach activities and team meetings
  • Mandatory paid training: June 11, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

COMPENSATION

  • $25.00 per hour
  • Mileage reimbursement at $0.67 per kilometre
  • Paid training

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Reliable, punctual and self motivated
  • Comfortable starting work early in the morning
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Confident working independently and as part of a two person team
  • Friendly, professional and respectful when interacting with the public
  • Detail oriented and observant
  • Comfortable driving throughout Metro Vancouver

Experience in community engagement, customer service, environmental programs, outreach, education or related roles is an asset but not required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to travel throughout Metro Vancouver
  • Availability to work weekends
