Full job description

About the Role

  • Make Sure project schedule is on track working in partnership with the Project Manager
  • Carry out project work plans aimed at maintaining projects on track and on budget
  • Manage all vital aspects of the construction site
  • Maintain a professional, safe and organized site
  • Manage all day to day activities
  • Manage and schedule sub contractors, suppliers and vendors
  • Manage direct employees, including carpenters and labourers
  • Manage materials and service purchase orders
  • Lead site project meetings and provide direction and guidance when needed
  • Maintain daily report and schedule to demonstrate site progress
  • Follows O|M systems and procedures, sets a professional leadership example
  • Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to the growth and development of the company

About You

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience as a Superintendent or similar direct supervisory role
  • Experience in wood frame and concrete construction
  • Experience in mixed use concrete & wood frame projects
  • Experience in wood frame townhouse projects with underground parking is an asset
  • Combination of work experience and/or certification/training in an industry related trade
  • Working knowledge of health and safety programs within the general construction industry
  • Solid understanding of current construction practices, working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications
  • Ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong leader, able to communicate clearly and promote teamwork
  • Ability to use technology, email and learn software programs as needed
  • Desire to continually learn and improve
