Full job description

Canadian Network Installations, CNI has been a national service partner to telecommunication Carriers across Canada for 25 years. We offer infrastructure support, solutions, and network build in both wired and wireless sectors across Canada. Currently, we are seeking a technician who possess a strong understanding of Central Office environments with a focus on telecom equipment installation and maintenance in the greater Vancouver area. The potential candidate should consider the following attributes and overall deliverables.

Responsibilities and Knowledge:

  • Strong cabling fundamentals in both copper and fiber
  • Good understanding of network infrastructure in a central office environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with one or more operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to meet client service levels.
  • Knowledge or understanding of optical back haul topology
  • Installation of racks, cabinets and cabling of equipment.
  • Run, terminate, and test cables, both copper and fiber.
  • Experience working with DC power: Rectifiers, batteries etc.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with internal applications.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Corresponding directly with clients, dispatch center and project management.
  • Completion and submission of reports, documentation, or work/job orders daily.
  • All quality and standards specifications are maintained.
  • Adaptation to both individual deliverables and team responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license. (Province of British Columbia)
