Full job description

Metro College of Technology is a career college in Toronto, Ontario. Since 1998 it has successfully been providing career-focused training programs to the public. The programs at Metro College of Technology cover engineering, data science, information technology, business and management, cloud computing, digital marketing and Enterprise Resource Planning. The college trains its students with state of the art knowledge and skills to meet today’s dynamic job market demand.

Currently we are looking for instructors to teach one or more than one of the following data science courses:

1. SQL Programming

2. VBA Programming

3. R for Data Analytics

4. Python for Data Analytics

5. Data Analytics and Statistics

6. Machine Learning and Deep Learning

7. Cloud Computing

8 Data Mining and Advanced Statistical Modeling

9 Tableau for Data Analytics

Key Duties

1. Prepare teaching plans and contents

2. Deliver course instructions to students

3. Prepare and mark exercises, tests, classroom project and exams

4. Check student's attendance on a daily basis

5. Provide additional support to needed students

6. Complete teaching related admin assignments

7. Participate in instructor's meetings

8. Support students with job search

Qualifications

1. Master or PhD in computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, public health or in a related field

2. Good knowledge and skills in the listed course(s) you like to teach, and are good at SQL and/or big data/Hadoop

3. Working experience in data analysis, including structured data and unstructured data

4. Successful teaching experience at post-secondary level

5. Well-organized, and result-driven

6. Patient, approachable and disciplined

7. Able to follow instructions and be able to work independently

8. Able to learn quickly and apply new knowledge and skills

Start Date: Feb 14, 2024

Start date of instruction: as soon as possible

No. of Weekly Teaching Hours: 20 (5 hours a day, 4 days a week)

Day and time of teaching: Mon, Tue, Wed, and Fri, 9:00 - 14:00

Type of position: Part-time contract that can lead to a permanent position

Pay: $50.00-$75.00 per year
