Seeking: Energetic customer service/sales oriented individuals for the position of Telus Field Installations and Repair Technician.

Job Description: In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service while performing installations and repairs Internet, Optik TV, Home Phone, and Smart Home Security systems for our residential and or business customers. You will work independently in the field, assessing customer needs, identifying opportunities to upsell or bundle services, and ensuring a “5-Star” experience on every visit. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction and performance targets. Previous experience in telecommunications or sales oriented customer-facing roles is a strong asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch from home to customer locations using specific online applications.
  • Reach out to customers prior to arrival, providing ETA.
  • Install and troubleshoot Internet, Optik TV, Home Phone, and Smart Home Security & Automation.
  • Install and diagnose cabling including, fibre, twisted pair, cat/5, coaxial.
  • Assess current customer services and find new sale opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with new products, equipment, pricing, and everchanging technologies.
  • Ensure reliability of all customer services using online test tools.
  • Deliver a "5-Star" customer experience at every interaction through professionalism, technical expertise, and value-added sales.
  • Adhere to all applicable Health & Safety regulations.
  • Present yourself in a polite and professional manner to gain the respect and trust from every Telus customer.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 12 education.
  • Familiarity with everyday hand tools, ladders, cordless drills, and computer hardware/software.
  • Strong customer service background and sales abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.
  • Physically capable of carrying and maneuvering a 60lbs extension ladder, climbing ladders multiple times a day, and lifting heavy objects.
  • Positive, solutions-based attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to work 1 weekend and 1 evening shift (available until 7 pm) per week.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized to manage workloads with minimal direction.
  • Must be comfortable with computers, and able to handle various Windows-based applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
  • Must be technically inclined and have a desire to learn.
  • Means to provide or acquire steel toe boots, basic hand tools and cordless tools.
