Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, computer networking, and telecommunication infrastructure. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects including CCTV, VoIP, Ethernet networks, and data center environments. The Low Voltage Technician will ensure the proper functioning and safety of all low voltage systems, supporting the overall operational efficiency of our clients' infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems such as CCTV cameras, access control, alarm systems, and intercoms
  • Perform wiring and cabling for computer networking, telecommunication systems, and data centers using hand tools and industry standards
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate system installation and maintenance
  • Maintain and upgrade Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya communication systems, and Ethernet networks
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues with low voltage infrastructure and perform necessary repairs or replacements
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to plan system layouts and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Document system configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures accurately

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in electrical work related to low voltage systems or telecommunications preferred
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking protocols (Ethernet, VLANs), VoIP systems (VoIP), and data center operations
  • Familiarity with CCTV installation, Schematics interpretation, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and telecommunication infrastructure
  • Proficiency with hand tools used for wiring and installation tasks
  • Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately
  • Experience working with electrical components in commercial or industrial environments is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant certifications or training in low voltage systems or electrical work are preferred
