Full job description

Web & E-commerce Systems Specialist – Full Time

Don’s Photo | Winnipeg, MB

Don’s Photo is looking for a hands-on Web & E-commerce Systems Specialist to help manage and improve our websites, e-commerce platforms and digital systems.

We’re looking for someone who understands web technology, enjoys solving problems and can take ownership of projects. You don't need to be a full-time web developer—we need someone technical enough to handle many projects directly, work effectively with outside developers and technology providers, and know the right questions to ask.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and maintain our multiple company websites, including SEO, content, navigation and apps and promotions.
  • Help oversee our primary Don's Photo website and act as our internal technical contact with our third-party e-commerce provider.
  • Regularly review our websites to identify outdated content, technical issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Install, configure and manage apps and other third-party integrations.
  • Coordinate with outside developers and technology providers when specialized work is required.
  • Lead current and future web projects from requirements and planning through testing and launch.
  • Assist with other web, e-commerce and computer-related projects as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on website or e-commerce experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience implementing or troubleshooting third-party apps and integrations.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, domains, DNS, SSL and website infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with website analytics and SEO fundamentals.
  • Experience working with outside developers, agencies or SaaS providers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.

Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, Booqable, Canada Post integrations, SMS platforms, retail POS systems or multi-location retail would be an asset, but isn't required.

A university or college degree isn't essential. We're more interested in your hands-on experience, what you've worked on and your ability to learn and solve problems.

Who You'll Be

You're someone who enjoys figuring out how things work and finding better ways to do things. You're comfortable working independently, but you're also able to communicate technical information clearly to people who aren't technical.

Most importantly, you understand that you don't have to build everything yourself. You should be comfortable determining what can be handled internally, when outside expertise is needed, and then working with those partners to make sure the project gets completed properly.

About Don's Photo

Don's Photo is a Canadian photography retailer and professional photo lab with multiple locations and a growing e-commerce business.

Technology is becoming an increasingly important part of our operations, and we're looking to bring more web and e-commerce knowledge in-house.

This is a varied role. One day you might be updating a Shopify store, the next troubleshooting an integration, working with a web developer, researching a new customer communication platform or helping plan a new e-commerce site.

Position: Full-Time
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Schedule: Monday to Friday

To Apply

Please submit your resume and tell us a little about your experience with, e-commerce websites and web integrations.

If possible, include examples of websites, or digital projects you've worked on and briefly explain what your role was in those projects.

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Dental care
  • Extended health care
  • Flexible schedule
  • Life insurance
  • Vision care

  • Winnipeg, MB R2V 2A4 (required)
