Full job description

About Us

Homesol Building Solutions Inc. is a growing group of companies serving clients across Atlantic Canada and beyond. Our team works across multiple business divisions, and technology is at the heart of how we deliver for our clients — from the field to the office. We are looking for a hands-on technology professional to own our IT environment and help us work smarter as we scale.

The Opportunity

The IT Systems & Business Technology Specialist is responsible for the administration, security, and continuous improvement of our technology environment. You will support employees across all divisions by managing our Microsoft 365 environment, cybersecurity program, business platforms (Jobber and Ontraccr), hardware, and automation initiatives.

This is a broad, high-impact role: you will be our go-to technology person, with real ownership over how our systems run and room to shape how we adopt new tools — including AI.

Core Responsibilities:

Microsoft 365 & Systems Administration

  • Administer our Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, licensing, and security groups, including onboarding and offboarding.
  • Manage software licensing, renewals, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Monitor system health and recommend infrastructure improvements.

Cybersecurity

  • Maintain cybersecurity policies and best practices; administer Microsoft Defender, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and endpoint protection.
  • Monitor security alerts, investigate potential threats, and coordinate remediation.
  • Support security awareness training and business continuity planning across the organization.

Business Platforms — Jobber & Ontraccr

  • Administer and maintain Jobber (field service management) and Ontraccr (workforce/operations management), including user setup, workflows, automations, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Manage integrations between Jobber, Ontraccr, Microsoft 365, and other business systems.
  • Support user training and adoption, and identify opportunities to improve business processes through platform enhancements.

Technical Support & Hardware

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to end users and troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and application issues, escalating to vendors when needed.
  • Procure, configure, and deploy laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals; maintain the hardware inventory and manage warranties and vendor relationships.
  • Develop documentation, knowledge articles, and user guides.

Where You'll Grow

  • Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve business operations, and implement approved solutions.
  • Build automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and related technologies.
  • Assist with technology budgeting, planning, and evaluation of emerging tools.

What You Bring

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of progressive IT experience, including administering Microsoft 365 environments.
  • A strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and hands-on experience with the Microsoft security stack.
  • Experience administering a CRM, field service, or operations platform (Jobber, Ontraccr, or comparable tools such as ServiceTitan, HubSpot, or Salesforce).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with strong communication and customer service instincts.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, multi-division environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI).
  • Experience implementing AI tools in a business environment.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Microsoft SC-900 or SC-300, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), CompTIA Security+, or ITIL Foundation.

How to Apply:

If you are a self-starter who enjoys solving problems and improving how a business runs on technology, we would love to hear from you. Please send your resume and a brief note about your experience to hr@homesol.ca.

We thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Homesol Building Solutions Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fair and equitable recruitment practices and we welcome discussion for any accommodation needs required throughout the hiring process.
