Full job description

We are looking for an automation enthusiast to join the growing FH Team. The successful candidate will have an engineering back-ground with broad industry knowledge and excellent communication skills.

As part of our sales group, you will work with customers analyze, concept and estimate complex tooling, machinery and processes. These include welding (MIG, Spot, Laser), assembly (feeding, fastening, press-fit, dispense), Inspection (vision, gauging, probing) and Material Handling (robotic, conveying, dedicated.)

Duties:

  • Review customer drawings, CAD, RFQ and specifications
  • Meet with customers to review specifications, concepts (in person and virtual)
  • Develop technical concepts for automated welding and assembly machines (AutoCAD, Solidworks)
  • Prepare estimates and prepare detailed written proposals, presentations
  • Frequently communicate with all active customers
  • Present company and project information to customer teams

Skills / Experience:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree preferred
  • 5+ years in engineering role in Automation/Tooling/Robotics
  • Effective communicator with written and oral proficiency in English
  • Experience in the automation/robotics industry is required
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CAD (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks) proficiency required
  • Welding systems experience preferred

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, positive and demonstrate maturity
  • Have the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Have high attention to detail
  • Possess the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple task
  • Strong communicator in verbal and written English
  • Valid Ontario Drivers license
  • Valid passport with no travel restrictions within North America
  • Able to travel including overnight within North America
