This position is based in Nunavut, Canada and will require travel.

We are seeking an experienced Multi-Family Site Superintendent with strong leadership skills, a high degree of emotional intelligence, and critical thinking abilities to manage challenging projects in Nunavut. The qualified candidate must be comfortable with travelling and spending time in remote communities. You should be adept at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment while fostering a positive and productive team culture.

You will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with the project team, clients, trade contractors, and consultants to ensure project success.
  • Promote a culture of safety and maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with local leaders, businesses and other community members.
  • Conduct daily project hazard assessments and enforce safety protocols.
  • Oversee and verify that contractors’ complete tasks in alignment with project specifications and schedules.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project construction schedules.
  • Review project drawings and specifications, proactively identifying and resolving conflicts.
  • Manage labor, materials, and rental expenses.
  • Continuously update “as-built” drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate municipal and utility inspections.
  • Communicate professionally with team members and clients to ensure project alignment.
  • Participate in job site meetings, addressing issues and proposing solutions.

We would like you to have:

  • Minimum of 15 years of Site Superintendent experience, preferably with full-cycle multi-family residential projects.
  • Professional, fair, dependable individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, and email.
  • Have a strong commitment to safety and work safe practices on the job site.
  • Would be an asset if you have familiarity with local regulations and practices.
  • Flexibility to work in Iqaluit for 6–8 weeks at a time with scheduled turnarounds.
