Full job description

The Support Worker supports the persons served in leading fulfilling lives within group living settings, in alignment with the philosophy and values of Communitas. It ensures that each person's physical, emotional, social, spiritual, educational, and medical needs are met throughout all stages of life - including end-of-life care. This role focuses on fostering dignity, choice, and personal growth, helping each person served reach their fullest potential while honoring their unique journey.

Here's what we need from you:

  • Community Support Worker certificate or equivalent is an asset; we provide in-house training if you do not have this certificate
  • The ability to take initiative with creativity and flexibility
  • The ability to work as a member of a team as well as being able to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to provide coverage for a variety of shifts including days, evenings, overnights (awake) and weekends
  • Possession of a Class 4 BC Drivers License - licenses 3, 2 1 are also acceptable. (If you hold a Class 5; the ability, willingness & eligibility to obtain a Class 4 BC Driver’s License 3-6 months after hire)
  • Personal Driving Record
  • Emergency First Aid Certificate with CPR Level C
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Doctor’s Note of Good Health

Salary:

  • Day/Evening Shift: $25.59 - $27.95 per hour
  • Awake Night Shift: $23.73 - $27.95 per hour
  • Sleep Night Shift: $20.86 - $22.92 per hour
