Full job description

Binkadi Community Services is hiring skilled Specialized Awake Child and Youth Workers for staffed Child / Youth Homes in support of individuals that present with a variety of challenging behaviours including dysregulation and aggression resulting from, disrupted attachment and complex trauma. Successful candidates should have the following skills:

· strong communication

· critical thinking

· ability to stay calm in the face of crisis / conflict

· non-violent communication

· team player

· commitment and reliability

  • passion and dedication to supporting this clientele

Job duties include: providing a safe, secure home environment, household management, meal planning and preparation, budgeting, maintaining the home and yard, following the child / youth's plan of care, providing emotional support ,responding to any immediate needs of the child / youth and medication administration

All Binkadi team members must pass a vulnerable sector criminal record check and have a valid first aid certificate within 60 days of hiring. Candidates are eligible for benefits after six months of full time employment.

Applicants must have a related degree, 2 years experience in the field or a combination of both.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.73-$27.19 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
